DIY Beachy Wreath, Guest Post by Two Succulent Sisters

Hi, everyone and welcome! I’m Linda from Two Succulent Sisters and I’m guest blogging for Kate who is currently taking a bloggy vacation.

My daughter bought a house last year and she loves the beach so she is decorating in a beach cottage style.  Since I had some starfish, I asked her if she’d like to have a starfish wreath. She said yes so I went out and bought a twig wreath large enough to hold five starfish.
Then I decided I’d like to do a tutorial on making this wreath.  So here it is:
I bought a twig wreath at Joann’s.

And I bought a garland with bluish iridescent berries on it.

I had some sea stars and shells.

I also had added some sea glass and driftwood. I live in fairly near the shore in Connecticut so I’m always gleaning the beaches for shells, odd driftwood, and sea glass.
Okay, so twirl the garland with the blue berries around the center of the wreath and spread out the branches of berries to mimic the way the twigs are going.

I glued this down with my glue gun.

Time to glue on the starfish. I arranged them a couple different ways before I was happy with it.

I had a little piece of driftwood I glued on.

I put on some shells, too and some sea glass.

I didn’t want it overloaded with shells (believe me, I have enough shells to completely cover this baby). I wanted a lighter, cleaner look.
The wreath I bought was on sale so it was a little lopsided. I had to cut branches off one side and glue them on the other to round it out a some.

I’m really happy with the way it turned out and my daughter is thrilled.  Hope you enjoyed this tutorial.
